Man United could now land €50m windfall thanks to Dan Ashworth masterstroke

Manchester United sold Mason Greenwood to French outfit Marseille in the summer of 2024.

Dan Ashwath was the sporting Director of the club back then, and he included a 50% sell-on clause in the attacker’s deal when he sold the player to the French outfit. Greenwood has been excellent, and naturally, he has been linked with multiple clubs.

Mason Greenwood to Saudi Arabia?

It appears that Saudi outfit Neom Sports are now keen on securing the services of the former Manchester United forward, and they could offer around €100 million to secure his signature, as per fichajes.

That would mean Manchester United would get to pocket around €50 million because of the sell-on clause in the contract. The decision from Ashworth is looking like a masterstroke now. The funds could help Manchester United improve their squad massively in the coming months. It would also help them balance the books as far as financial regulations are concerned.
