A £36m move to Manchester United

Zirkzee joined United from Bologna for £36m in 2024 after a Serie A campaign in which he scored 13 league goals and won the division’s Young Player of the Year award. He has scored five Premier League goals across two seasons at Old Trafford and started five league games last season.

Despite a positive pre-season, Zirkzee could depart before the transfer deadline. Juventus and Napoli are both monitoring the Dutch forward, who impressed in Serie A before his move to the Premier League.

According to Football Italia, Napoli have Zirkzee on their striker shortlist as they seek competition for former United forward Rasmus Hojlund. The report also says Napoli are monitoring Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.

Football Italia, citing Goal.com, reported that Manchester United had opened the door to a loan departure without firm guarantees over an obligation to buy. The same report said both Juventus and Napoli need to make sales before pursuing a move for Zirkzee.

Romelu Lukaku has left Napoli this summer, while Lorenzo Lucca and Noa Lang are also expected to depart. Juventus and Napoli remain among the clubs considering Zirkzee ahead of the deadline.
