United Handed Squad Boost Ahead of Leeds Clash in Dublin

Mason Mount will miss Manchester United’s pre-season friendly against Leeds United at Croke Park on Wednesday after picking up a knock in the draw with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Independent reports that Mount will not feature in Dublin following the PSG match.

What Else Has Changed in United’s Squad

Marcus Rashford is back with the Manchester United squad as Michael Carrick looks to reintegrate the winger. Kobbie Mainoo may also play his first minutes of pre-season.

Senne Lammens and Matheus Cunha both missed the PSG game through illness but are back in contention to feature. Benjamin Sesko is available after missing pre-season so far with injury.

Why This Fixture Matters

United and Leeds will bring football to Croke Park for the first time since 2009. Daniel Farke’s side won their first league game at Old Trafford since 1981 four months ago and will look to repeat that result against their cross-Pennines rivals.

Leeds have also impressed in the build-up to the new Premier League campaign, coming from two goals down to beat Liverpool 4-2 in Chicago during their United States tour.

United have had a promising pre-season since an opening slip-up against Wrexham in July, beating Atletico Madrid before drawing with European champions PSG last weekend.

Kick-off at Croke Park in Dublin is at 7:30pm BST on Wednesday 12 August. The match will be shown free-to-air on ITV1, available to subscribers on MUTV and streamed on ITVX.
